KAREN WOLTER, Managing Partner

When clients describe Karen, the first words spoken are “valued partner.” They speak of the trust that she instills and the partnership approach that makes her experience a crucial part of her client’s success. They look to her for practical advice and prompt, clear communications.

Karen practices primarily in the areas of municipal law, corporate governance and risk management. After practicing with big firms – Alston & Bird in Atlanta and Smith Helms Mulliss & Moore L.L.P. in Charlotte -- she connected with a former colleague in 2009 to bring her deep experience to Bringewatt, Wolter & Snover.

Karen often acts as “general counsel” to her clients, helping them manage through human resource issues, contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and corporate, municipal and non-profit governance.

• Acting as general counsel for several North Carolina municipalities and non-profit organizations
• Assisting in the creative and orderly dissolution of several professional partnerships and limited liability corporations in order to ameliorate discord amongst parties and to avoid litigation
